
Under the patronage of Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, the Scientific Center, an affiliate of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS), hosted on Wednesday a ceremony to honor the volunteers who took part in the Center's summer program - 2013. The voluntary program is being held for the 13th year, hosting 66 this year, compared to 29 in its first year, Engineer Mijbil Al-Mutawa, Chairman and Managing Director of the Center, said during his speech, adding that the total number of individuals who benefited from the program during the past years is 1,172 male and female volunteers. Also, Al-Mutawa indicated that the Center has worked on improving the program, stemming from its faith that voluntary work helps youth in understanding the meaning of commitment and taking responsibility as it also fills their leisure times with the benefits of developing their skills, as well as discovering and crafting their talents. In addition, He praised this year's volunteers for proving their worthiness and capability in dealing and training that made them a role model in commitment and dedication, noting at the same time that this year's summer program included intensified activities and several programs.
