The National Institute of Training (NIT) held a graduation ceremony for the first group of students who completed their certification training on Microsoft and Oracle through Tamkeen’s Professional Certification Scheme “e7trf”. The scheme is part of Tamkeen’s ongoing efforts to make Bahrainis employees choice by enabling them to obtain in-demand accredited professional certifications. Through the programme, Tamkeen provides beneficiaries with a full grant to cover the cost of their study, with 50% of the cost paid up front and the remainder reimbursed upon completion of the certification. Applicants to the programme can select between studying in any of the approved local training providers, self study programmes, or even studying abroad. Amal Al-Kooheji, Senior Manager Human Capital Development in Tamkeen, said, "By elevating the skills and capabilities of Bahrainis through its human capital initiatives such as "e7trf”, Tamkeen is enabling tens of thousands of ambitious men and women to enhance their employability and advance their professional careers." National Institute of Training Director Mr. Frank Morais, commented, "This is an excellent opportunity for Bahrainis, especially fresh graduates, to fast track their IT Careers and become job-ready." The ceremony also showcased video testimonials from students who talked about their experience and expectations from this programme and how it have or would benefit them. One of the graduates, Durreya Habib, a Oracle Database Professional, said “I love to learn new things which help me to develop both in my personal and professional lives. As someone already working in the IT field, I decided to enhance my knowledge by enrolling in this professional programme. I am thankful to Tamkeen for giving me this opportunity and for all its various aspects of support.” Her fellow graduate, Fatima Nasser, a Microsoft Certified IT Professional, said, “I wanted to stand out, so I chose to get a Microsoft Certification on Windows Server Technology, a track that is normally dominated by men. I am pleased to achieve this goal with Tamkeen’s support, but I consider this to be just the beginning for me as I will pursue the next level of Microsoft certifications in new technologies.” Hamad Al Saie, Public Sector Lead - Microsoft, commented "Microsoft is committed to Bahrain’s visionary direction of investing in and developing a local pool of capable and competitive Information Technology Professionals. This falls directly in line with Bahrain’s economic 2030 vision that puts human resource development at the heart of the Kingdom’s economic reform.” Regional Channel Manager - Oracle University, Mr. Mohamed Issa stated. "At Oracle University we support such programmes as we believe that excellence in your IT career depends on receiving official training thereby earning accredited professional qualifications. Hence, such certifications must be the ultimate goal that will lead IT professionals on the right track of success in the Industry." There are over 150 applicants for this programme enrolled at NIT pursuing certifications in a wide variety of technologies including Microsoft, Oracle, CompTIA, IT Service Management, and many others.
