President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi
Budapest - MENA

The Hungarian TV has interviewed Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to ask him about bilateral relations and developments in Egypt and the Middle East.

Sisi told the Hungarian TV he could sense Budapest's support for Cairo, which is playing an important role in achieving stability in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Sisi made it clear that regional stability is key to Europe's own security and stability, said presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef on Saturday.

The president said he believes Hungary can contribute to increasing the flow of European investments and tourism to Egypt through its seat at the EU.

Once inaugurated, the New Suez Canal will make it easier for EU countries to tap Arab and African markets, Sisi told the Hungarian TV.

He touched upon measures taken by the Egyptian government to improve the investment climate in the country and counter corruption.

He also underscored a twinning agreement between Egypt and Hungary in the field of tourism.

Asked about political reform in Egypt, the president said Egypt insists on completing the road map and conducting the legislative elections.

The government is keen on achieving social justice and improving the living conditions of the Egyptian people, Sisi added.
