The 31st convention of the National Union of Kuwait Students (NUKS), US Branch, the largest Kuwaiti students gathering, is attracting the attention of media.
A number of media figures attending the event told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday that they have come to the convention to support the students and showcase their ambitions and point of views.
The media figures added that they are attending the students' economic and sports seminars, and are planning to be present at the religious and media-related seminars to be held later on Sunday.
Meanwhile, media figure Thamer Al-Dakhil said Kuwait pays great attention towards investing in students, sending thousands of them to study abroad at the best international universities.
Electronic media specialist Omar Al-Othman, on his part, noted the importance of social media networks in transferring and constantly updating information about the event to Kuwait and the families of the students.
Meanwhile, officials of the Kuwaiti Cultural Office in the US and the Ministry of Education held direct discussions with the Kuwaiti students studying in the nation, examining their problems and issues.
Some 9,500 Kuwaiti citizens currently study in the United States. The figure is forecast to increase in coming years.
