
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Tuesday with a number of young media professionals and journalists.
During the meeting, Sisi noted the role played by the media in raising the awareness of the Egyptian people, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Sisi said that raising the awareness of the people contributed to the stability of the nation and increased its ability to address challenges especially at the times of crises.
He stressed the importance of combating corruption and carrying out institutional reforms.
"We are looking forward to achieving economic progress," Sisi said, adding that Egypt was preparing for holding a major economic conference in the first quarter of 2015.
Sisi announced that two bills were being drafted to criminalize abusing the January 25 and June 30 revolutions and to amend the criminal procedures.
"The two draft laws will be presented to the cabinet," Sisi said.
He affirmed the importance of increasing the societal consensus, noting that security efforts would be meaningless without the help of the people.
"The strategic goal in the current period is to protect the Egyptian state in parallel with moving at all political, economic and social levels in order for Egypt to restore its position." he said.
He asserted the necessity of achieving the goals of the Egyptian revolutions.
"The constitution guarantees the independence of the judiciary and that interference in its affairs is not allowed." he assured.
