
Qatar News Agency (QNA) held Monday the first day of a workshop on covering economy news, organized to provide training for Qatari journalists.
Some 20 journalist from the public and private sector are attending the three-day workshop. Director of Media Relations at Qatar News Agency Ahmed Mohammed Al Buainain said today that the latest workshop reflectes the QNA’s commitment to developing workers in the media field in the State of Qatar, through continous educational programs.
On the current workshop, Al Buainain said that it will discuss a number of subjects related to covering economic news including the integration of numbers and graphs in a news story, as well as how to convey complicated economic terms to the public reading the story.
Qatar News Agency workshops were launched in accordance to Emiri decision no. 51 for 2009 which mandated Qatar News Agency to hold workshops to improve the professional standard of Qatari journalists.
