Minister of Communication Abdelkader Messahel said Saturday the President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika's message to mark theWorld Press Freedom Day is a roadmap for development and promotion of media industry in Algeria. Dubbing the message a "real roadmap" Messahel told reporters, after he paid tribute to journalists killed by terrorists, that "the head of State has set the end of the year as a time limit for the completion of measures to reinforce the legal framework governing the media industry," the minister told reporters,. The legal framework includes clauses from the Information Law, like those relating to advertisement, which are "very important for the organization of the industry." Among other laws that are likely to reinforce the media industry, Messahel cited the law on broadcasting and that governing opinion polls. "Those Algerian laws comply with the international standards," Messahel stressed.
