The Palestinian Ministry of Information on Saturday denounced the detention of and assault on two Palestinian journalists by the Israeli police in Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem).
In press statements, the Ministry's Undersecretary Mahmud Khalifeh said that such practices by the Israeli forces were a violation to the freedom of movement, pointing out that the Palestinian journalists had the right to freely move in the West Bank, Al Quds and the Gaza Strip.
For its part, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) has condemned the act and called on the International Federation of Journalists and international and Arab journalists unions to denounce Israeli practices against journalists.
