Number of Petra visitors increases in August
Amman - PETRA
The number of visitors to Petra increased by 52 per cent in August compared to the same month last year, according to the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA). A total of 38,034 people visited the Nabataean city last month, including 24,544 foreigners, 10,005 Jordanians and 126 official guests. The site's tourism revenues also increased in August by 30 per cent compared to the same month of 2011, according to the PDTRA.
