Mikati plans to file lawsuit against journalist Charles Ayoub for defamation

The press office of outgoing Prime Minister Najib Mikati said Saturday in a statement that "the head of government will bring legal action against the editor of Diyar newspaper, Charles Ayoub, for defamation and publishing false information against him, especially in the Aug. 29 edition of the newspaper." Counselor for Mikati said the "provocative" information published in the newspaper in question poses a threat to civil peace.
