Ma’an Network on Thursday elected a new board of directors in the presence of representatives of the Palestinian ministries of interior, information and communications. A meeting for the General Assembly was held in Bethlehem's Conference Palace during which financial and administrative reports of the year 2012 were presented before elections. Thirty-nine members of the General Assembly attended the meeting. The financial report was read by Ayid Eid on behalf of PricewaterhouseCoopers, who reported that Ma'an's financial statements for the year 2012 were consistent with international standards. The report was then approved unanimously by the General Assembly. Ma'an Network's general manager Raed Othman then read the administrative report covering the period May 2011 – August 2013. After multiple questions, the report was approved. The former board of directors submitted its resignation and candidates were invited to nominate themselves for the new board. Seven candidates won elections uncontested: Basim Mousa Sbeih, Tariq Jbara, Kifah Manasra, Sa’d Arouri, Fawzi Da’na, Ruba Izz, Fatin Ulwan, Salim Sweidan and Nibal Thawabta. The group agreed on Thawabta as chairwoman, Da’na deputy chairman, Sa’d Arouri treasurer and Kifah Manasra secretary.
