Kuwaiti minister hails organisers of youth community initiative

Information Minister and State Youth Minister Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said that the Kuwaiti leadership have full faith in the importance of the youth's role in building the nation.
It was for this purpose that the Ministry of Youth was formed, in order to tend to their needs, activities and innovations, the minister said in a speech at an award ceremony of ministry employees.
The employees were being awarded for their efforts towards a youth football project, which offers a combined platform where youth in the country may locate and book a timeslot for one of 108 football courts in exchange for a small fee.
He hailed the initiative as one aimed at instilling a spirit of sportsmanship and friendship amongst young people in the country.
The project, which was launched in April, 2013, is the fruits of the combined efforts of the Ministry of Youth, Ministry of Education and local co-operative societies, on one hand, and the private sector on the other.
The minister also announced the creation of a website and an upcoming competition.
