
Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah on Wednesday stressed the role by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASPU) to highlight the real Arab image and transfer impressive messages to the world.
In its 34th conference that kicked off here today, ASPU is seeking to reach decisions likely to help bolster the role it plays to combat challenges facing the Arab nation and media, Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud told reporters on the fringes of the annual event.
ASPU is keen on developing an influential Arab media discourse to directly impress the youth and safeguard them against extremism that is at is far from Islam the Minister said.
Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud appreciated the efforts by ASPU Chairman Ismail Al-Shishtawi and Director-General Salah Eddine Maauoi to cement ties with the Arab media institutions, both official and private.
He also thanked the heads of participant delegations, regional unions and the members of ASPU Secretariat for their hard work to underscore the union's role as a professional entity and a model for joint Arab action.
