Kuwait revokes local newspaper, TV channel licenses

The Information Ministry has revoked the licenses of local newspaper and TV satellite channel because they did not fully honor them, a ministry official said Tuesday.
Muneera Al-Huwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary for Press and Publications, said in a statement the newspaper and TV channels did not meet one of the conditions in the licenses, thus prompting their cancellation.
The ministry is committed to complying with the print and publication law and the Visual and Audio law, which are controlling media practice in Kuwait, Al-Huwaidi said in a brief statement.
