KUNA's Board Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah on Monday underlined significance of media cooperation among Muslim nations in order to confront attempts to distort the image of Muslims around the world.
This came during Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij's reception of Director General of the Albanian Telegraphic Agency Gezim Podgorica, who is currently visiting the country upon an official invitation from KUNA.
Both agencies signed an agreement for cooperation in several domains on Sunday.
Praising KUNA's noticeable development, Podgorica also commended KUNA's keenness on enhancing communication with the public through new media services. He also pointed out that cooperation with the Albanian agency would contribute in mutual development.
The agreement focuses on exchange of technical assistance, exchanged visits of senior and junior employees, news and photo archive swap and dual coverage of major events across both countries.
Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij, during the meeting, appreciated Podgorica's invitation to visit the Albanian Telegraphic Agency in the capital, Tirana, with a set date to be determined in the future.
