
Minister of Communication Hamdi Grine stressed Tuesday in Illizi (1850-km southeast of Algiers) the importance of national Media's contribution to development actions in in different fields.
"It is up to national media to contribute to the efforts made in different development areas," the minister told Radio Illizi.
Grine insisted on the need to promote local new industry in this border province.
He underlined the necessity to highlight women's role, instil an environmental culture within society and emphasize the local touristic specificities, mainly through programmes shedding light on the huge potentialities of Tassili N'Ajjer to promote tourism in the region.
The minister disclosed a series of decisions meant to develop the communication sector in this far southern province.
He announced the increase to 24 hours/day the radio broadcasting of local Illizi station as well as the opening of two offices, for the local radio, in In-Amenas and Djanet.
