Minister of Culture Dr Gaber Asfour met on Sunday with a high-profile delegation of the General Union of Arab Artists from Libya, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Yemen, Tunisia and Jordan.
The Egyptian minister welcomed the delegation and described the convocation of the Cairo Film Festival as a big challenge, noting that hosting the event at such critical timing Egypt is going through was considered a big success.
Director Mosaad Fouda said Egypt has been and will continue embracing all arts, highlighting its pioneering role in closing Arab ranks and placing high the value of Arab cinema and theatrical arts.
He said establishing a permanent residence for the Union of Arab Artists is a pressing demand from the Egyptian minister.
