The attorney general of the Hamas-run government in the Gaza Strip says the closures of Ma’an Network and al-Arabiya are temporary. But he accused both outlets of disseminating information “unprofessionally.” In a statement released by his office Thursday, Ismail Jabir also confirmed that a prisoner held over criminal charges would be executed in a few days in public. He asserted that the execution in public would deter other criminals and reduce murders. The statement urged Palestinian factions to avoid defending any criminals under the pretext that they are affiliated with one faction or another: “Resistance weapon is pure and shouldn’t be contaminated by fights and brawls.”
