Minister of Communication, Hamid Grine announced Sunday in Oran, that the first national cards of the journalist will be delivered to their beneficiaries on October 22, a date that coincides with the National Press Day, decreed on May 2013 by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
The minister said, on the sidelines of a visit to the province of Oran, that the delivery of these first cards, ten in number, “is a great victory for the press and the communication sector.”
To implement the regulation authority and the council of ethics, he said, it is necessary to identify all the journalists and distinguish the one that is professional and the one that is not. “We now have about 4000 journalists,” he added.
In this regard, Grine said that after the census of journalists, there will be the election of members of the regulation authority of the press, made up of 7 members elected by the journalists and 7 other members designated by the authorities.
“Whereas, the authority of broadcasting regulation is made up of 9 members, including 7 designated by the President of the Republic,” he recalled.
