The Federation of Arab Journalists (FAJ) condemned Israel's measures restricting the freedom of movement of Palestinian reporters.
Israel had prevented over 50 Palestinian writers and reporters in Gaza from heading to the West Bank to participate in the National Congress on Media Development in Palestine, organized by Birzeit University.
In a statement, the federation said the arbitrary measures is part of a chain of Israeli harassing moves committed against Palestinian reporters to prevent them from attending national and professional events.
The measures violate international and humanitarian laws that guarantee reporters the right of movement during crises and at occupation-controlled areas to access information, it added.
