
The European Union (EU) on Friday condemned the terrorist attack in China's Xinjiang and extend sympathies to the families and friends of the victims. "The EU has received reports of a terrorist attack on a market in Urumqi, Xinjiang, in China on 22 May ... We condemn this senseless act of violence and extend our heartfelt sympathies to the families and friends of the victims," EU said in a statement. Explosions that rocked an open air market in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on Thursday morning have left 39 dead and more than 90 injured.
