Egypt has signed several media agreements with Turkey's radio and television corporation. The contracts signed cover the sectors of news, factual programming, drama and training exchange. Egyptian Information Minister Salah Abdel Maqsoud signed the deals during his visit to Turkey on Saturday. The minister hailed his country's "strong and distinguished relations" with Turkey in political, economic and cultural fields. Maqsoud was invited to Turkey by Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc. During an interview with the Turkish television, the Egyptian official said that his visit to Turkey is aimed at "boosting bilateral ties, especially in the field of media." Maksoud added that Turkey was "one of the first countries which supported the January 25 Egyptian revolution."
