Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab
Manama - BNA

Minister of State for Information Affairs and the Official Spokesperson of the Government Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab will tomorrow open the Media Centre of the Parliamentary and Municipal Elections 2014 at the Isa Cultural Centre.
The opening ceremony will be attended by Senior officials, Ambassadors, the High Elections Committee, media personnel, journalists and correspondents of Arab and foreign newspapers, who are in the kingdom to cover the new democratic festival witnessed by Bahrain as a result of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Reform Project.
In a statement to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) marking the event, the Minister affirmed the kingdom's readiness to deal with all the phases of the electoral process, particularly at the media level, stressing the key role played by the media in projecting the real image of Bahrain and its democratic strides.
She lauded the landmark achievements of the kingdom thanks to HM the King's reforms, noting that Bahrain's accomplishments in a few years exceed those achieved by other countries for decades.
She underlined the importance of the citizens' participation in the electoral process, being the core and basis of the genuine political practices, and a strong pillar that strengthens the democratic march, stressing that the rights of citizenship and belonging to the homeland will not be complete unless the citizens head to the polls massively and choose their representatives to the Council of Representatives and municipal councils.
The Information Affairs Authority (IAA) has finalised preparations to cover the upcoming elections, and provided the necessary technical and artistic requirements so as to enable local and foreign media personal to assume their duties easily and project the real image of the fourth parliamentary and municipal elections, following the success of the previous ones in 2002, 2006 and 2010, as well as the 2011 by-elections.
The Media Centre is well-equipped with cutting-edge technology and services in order to ensure wide coverage of the elections by the media personnel and correspondents of world news agencies, which will reflect the success of the kingdom's democratic process.
