
Minister of State for Information Affairs, the Government's Official Spokesperson, Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab, today patronized a three-day training workshop titled "Media coverage and the elections".
French TV 5 channel's Chief News Editor, Slimane Zeghidour, addressed the workshop, being held at Information Affairs Authority headquarters..
The Minister highlighted the parliamentary and municipal elections, to be conducted on 22 November 2014 under HM the King's reform project, that requires preparing high-level journalists ready to cover this democratic experience via mass media, wishing the participants success.
Zeghidour, during the training session, tackled the basic criteria for covering the parliamentary and municipal elections, including the elections vital role in the nation's progress process, raising voters' awareness on the electoral process to enhance the concept of citizenship and the role of journalists in promoting the concept of democracy and pluralism among citizens.
