
Minister of State for Information Affairs and the Official Spokesperson of the Government Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab met here the Director-General of the Russian News Agency, ITAR-TASS, Director-General Sergei Mikhailov and First Deputy Director-General Mikhail Gusman.
She discussed with them areas of bilateral cooperation in the media field.
In an interview with Itar-Tass, the Minister praised Gulf Air's launch of a new route to Russia, noting that direct Manama-Moscow flights will create new economic, tourism and trade cooperation opportunities.
She also shed light on the latest developments in Bahrain, and the on-going preparations to hold parliamentary and municipal elections.
She stressed the importance of the electoral process, being an irreversible option, and an essential requirement to consolidate the democratic process in the kingdom, and carry on the Reform Project, spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
