
Bahrain Journalist Association (BJA) honoured veteran journalist Abdulaziz Al-Khaja, who headed the local news section for over 40 years. A delegation led by BJA incumbent chairman Moaness Al-Murdi visted Mr. Al-Khaja at his house in Manama and presented him with the honorary membership and a commemorative shield in recognition of his pioneering role in promoting Bahraini media and contributions to the national press. Al-Ayyam editor-in-chief and former BJA Chairman Isa Al-Shayji, Deputy Chairman Muhannad Suleiman, Executive Director Fawaz Ahmed Suleiman and head of Bahrain News Agency (BNA) photography section Daij Darwish were also part of the delegation. Mr. Al-Murdi paid tribute to the veteran journalist for his dedication, lifetime achievements and pioneering role in upgrading the local news section. Mr. Al-Khaja commended the association for taking the initiative to honour veteran journalists and media personnel.
