
The Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) has today hosted a ceremony at the Gulf Hotel in honour of media figures and journalists. The BIPD media and press partners have also been honoured in recognition of their efforts and contributions for the institute to fulfill its role in promoting political awareness and disseminating the culture of democracy.
The honourees included a batch of twenty-seven media figures and journalists representing all local dailies, Bahrain Radio and TV, Bahrain News Agency , the news and publishing directorates. The BIPD board of trustees and the members of the High Organising Committee of the of the Second GCC Forum for Political Media have also been honoured.
His Majesty's Advisor for Information Affairs, BIPD Board of Trustees' Chairman Nabeel bin Yacoub Al-Hamer thanked the honorees for their efforts to enable the institute achieve its goals. He commended the constructive role BIPD partners in building the bridges of communication between the institute and society and promote its activities and functions.
He also lauded members of BIPD Board of Trustees for their efforts and achievements to bolster the role of the institute in promoting political awareness among Bahraini citizens. He also commended the role of the BIPD executive director Dr. Yasser Al-Alawi for the strides achieved by the institute since his appointment eighteen months ago. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Dr. Al-Alawi revealed that a partnership strategy is being drawn up, describing the press and the media as key player in enhancing citizens' awareness.
