
The owners of an Instagram account titled @tipsforjesus has left tips in the thousands of dollars at restaurants in Chicago, San Francisco and elsewhere. The tips for Jesus diners, described by some servers as a trio of men, have been using an American Express Centurion Card, often known as a Black Card, since Sept. 8 to leave tips of $1,000 to $10,000 at restaurants in cities including Ann Arbor, Mich.; Chicago; San Francisco; and Ogden, Utah, ABC's "Good Morning America" reported Wednesday. Servers said the men appear to be college football fans and have left the large tips on game days in college football towns. Servers at a Notre Dame campus bar in South Bend, Ind., told the South Bend Tribune one of the men was wearing a University of South Carolina shirt and wrote "fight on," the school's slogan, on the receipt. The @tipsforjesus Instagram account, which says the anonymous owner or owners are trying to "do the Lord's work, one tip at a time," has been chronicling the tips with photos of the receipts.
