
Prime Minister, Wael al-Halqi, met on Thursday chairman and members of the National Media Council with the aim of upgrading the media mechanisms. Al-Halqi pointed out to the importance of coordination between the Information Ministry and the National Media Council and the Journalists Federation in an integrated and active process to assemble the national media capacities and to responsibly confront all misinformation campaigns. He hailed the success of national media outlets in confronting the universal war waged on Syria for three years, stressing the importance of the National Media Council to fulfill its national duties in shaping the strategic policies of the national media. In a press statement after the meeting, Chairman of the National Media Council, Mohammad Razzouq, said that the meeting resulted in a cooperation agreement between the Information Ministry and the National Media Council as to implement the media law and upgrade media performance.
