The new Shelby GT500 is making quite a bit of noise in the media these days. The most powerful and fastest production Mustang ever – and one of the most powerful V8 cars in the world – This car is definitely Mustang’s finest hour. In Ford’s eye this is a super car, which is why they’re treating it like one. They are trying to connect with the fans on a more personal level by showing them the men and women who made the GT500 with their blood, sweat and tears. Alright, we may have got a bit carried away! However they got around doing this, these SVT people have made one fabulous car. With 662hp (583 at the wheel), a manual gearbox and a sport chassis, the GT500 is an utter joy to drive. It also hits 200 mph, and does 0 to 60 in slightly over 3 seconds. So yes, it doesn’t look much like a super car, but it does go like one. And doesn’t cost a fortune.
