Lean & Green Efficiency Award 2012 for Volkswagen Slovakia

Sustainable mobility starts as early on as the production process. The highly regarded periodical ATZproduktion and the consultants Growth Consulting Europe GmbH have now acknowledged the diverse measures taken by Volkswagen Slovakia in placing it among the first winners of its Lean & Green Efficiency Award in the category “Groups / OEM”. This award recognises its all-round consideration and implementation of resource-conserving automotive production in Bratislava. The successful activities form part of the worldwide “Think Blue.” factory programme that lays down binding rules for efficient, resource-conserving production for all Volkswagen plants around the world. “That is why we have drawn up individual development pathways for each plant, to ensure that we are fully on track to meet our 2018 ecological targets,” explained Hubert Waltl, member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management with responsibility for the Production and Logistics Division.
