Ukraine has invited European observers to its gas measuring stations on the borders with Russia and Europe to monitor the transit of gas to the European Union, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuri Prodan said after talks with EU Energy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger on Wednesday, June 25.
Oettinger said there were no problems with the transit of Russian gas across Ukraine for the time being.
Gazprom spokesperson Sergei Kupriyanov confirmed that about 227 million cubic metres of gas had been transported through Ukraine over the past 24 hours, an increase of 22% from about 185 million cubic metres last week.
