The percentage of electricity consumption by the residential sector in the Kingdom in 2013 reached (48%) of the total electric energy sold, as (5,685,355) subscribers consumed (126,112,997) mega watt hours.
According to the annual report of the Regulatory Authority of Electricity and Cogeneration for the year 1434/1435 AH (2013 AD), the residential sector alone accounted for about half of the total consumption of electricity in the Kingdom, noting that loads of air conditioners solely are responsible for (70%) of the sector consumption of electricity.
