
The Russian government announced on Thursday that its experts would help in building two nuclear reactors in Jordan, with expectations to start operating in 2024 and 2026 respectively.
It said in an online release that it has worked out a Russian-Jordan draft agreement to build two nuclear reactors with a capacity of 1,000 MW each.
The renewed cooperation between Jordan and Russia to build two nuclear power plant with the capacity of 1000 MW, said ministry.
The agreement takes into account Russia's international obligations and rules in this area and doesn't contradict with international treaties and agreements, it added.
Russian state-owned company Rosatom won the project bidding in 2013 to build the first nuclear power plant in Jordan, the statement added.
