
AE Metito has signed an agreement for a Public Private Partnership (PPP) worth $75mn with the government of Rwanda to develop a new, sustainable bulk water supply plant to meet 40 percent of the drinking water needs of Kigali, the capital city.
The project will be carried out by Metito Egypt, the regional representative of the company in Africa.
In a statement on Saturday, the Foreign Ministry said that the deal comes as part of efforts exerted by the Egyptian Embassy in Rwanda to boost the Egyptian-Rwandan relations.
Rwanda's President Paul Kagame had taken part in Egypt's economic conference that was held in Sharm el Sheikh in March.
