Masdar, Etisalat sign agreement on collaboration on renewable energy

 Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, will collaborate with Etisalat, U.A.E.'s telecom telecoms major, to help it integrate sustainable, energy solutions into its operations, according to a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on the sidelines of GITEX Technology Week 2014.
The MoU, which was signed by Ahmad Belhoul, CEO of Masdar, and Saleh Al Abdooli, CEO of Etisalat, outlines key areas of collaboration, including the identification and analysis of renewable energy solutions, the opportunity to audit telecommunications networks, advise on energy optimization projects and lead workshops about the value of sustainable practices.
At GITEX, Masdar showcased the attractive investment opportunities available at Masdar City – Abu Dhabi’s sustainable urban development. Strategically located in Abu Dhabi’s fastest growing corridor, Masdar City offers tremendous advantages, including free zone benefits, seamless registration, foreign ownership, 99-year lease options and much more.
Belhoul said, "For the past eight years, Masdar has played a leading role in advancing sustainable energy solutions through research, education and investment in support of U.A.E.'s commitment to energy diversification. Our collaboration with Etisalat underscores the growing commitment by U.A.E. companies to reduce their environmental footprint and implement cleaner, more sustainable operations.
