
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab ordered officials in the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) to contact the technical education ministry to set up a school operating with solar energy and assess the possibility of publicizing the project nationwide.
This came during Mahlab's inauguration of AOI's first production line for the photovoltaic solar panels in Egypt. The premier praised the efforts of the organization in the service of achieving comprehensive development plans of the country.
Meanwhile, Head of AOI Lt. General Abdel Aziz Seifeldin voiced his appreciation for the government over its backing of the projects and the support of all concerned ministries and bodies.
He made it clear that AOI has carried out several energy saving projects over the past years.
AOI is currently preparing for establishing a 600-kilowatt solar station in Cyprus, another 4-megawatt at the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as well as 50-megawatt station in Ben Suef governorate in Upper Egypt.
