The Egyptian envoy to the United Nations, Amr Abul Ata, had high-level talks on overtures concerning renewable energy in Africa.
Egyptian Environment Minister Khaled Fahmi chaired the talks in which the executive director of the United Nations Environment Program and the director general of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) took part, the Egyptian Foreign Minister said in a statement Thursday.
The talks fell within the framework of the resolutions issued by the recent African Union summit which called for forming a working group under Egypt for renewable energy overtures in Africa.
