General electric to invest $200m in Egypt

The US giant General Electric Company announced on Friday that it will invest USD 200 million in Egypt by establishing a manufacturing and training center in Suez Governorate.
The investment would focus on power generation, renewable energy, water, oil and gas, aviation and rail transport, the company said in a statement.
The announcement came at the Egypt Economic Development Conference in Sharm el Sheikh town where Egypt is hoping to attract more investments, with a priority on the power sector.
