
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met with President of China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Chen Xiaohua in the presence of the ministers of transport, international cooperation, housing and electricity.
During the meeting, Mahlab said Egypt is looking forward to continue working with the Chinese group to complete its projects, Cabinet spokesman Hossam Qawish said.
The president of the Chinese group presented its underway projects in Egypt, saying that it will start a power station with a capacity of 1,330 MW in El Hamraween and is awaiting the land allocation for the project to submit its final offer.
The meeting also took up the development of the eastern desert highways of (Cairo-Assiut), (Aswan-Branes) and (Edfu-Marsa Allam).
The chairman also reviewed a drainage project in Gharbiya and Menufia at a cost of one billion dollars, saying that the group has been fully cooperating with the international cooperation and housing ministries in this regard and a framework agreement for the project was signed three weeks ago.
