The Cabinet, under Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, approved on Wednesday regulations of allocating state-owned lands for renewable energy projects.
Lands will be provided to private investors through usufruct agreements, Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker said.
As any as 127 alliances have been declared eligible to carry out solar and wind power projects with capacities of up to 50 megawatts per project, the minister added.
The new regulations, among others, are part of the government's strategy to encourage private sector participation in energy sector.
