Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has advertised for more than three dozen vacant positions at the senior levels in the organisation. The positions are at the senior technical and managerial levels in the Dubai government-owned organisation. Offering an attractive package to successful candidates, Dewa is hiring Senior Electronic Technicians, Engineers, Assistant Engineers, Deputy Managers and others Specialist positions. It’s scouting for people holding Electrical, Civil, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering degrees. Dewa earlier this year announced launch of Dh250 million substation in Industrial Area 4 as part of its effort to raise and upgrade the power capacity in the emirate. As part of its ongoing efforts, Dewa has upgraded its 132kV power transmission grid with the opening of a 132/11kV main substation with a 150 MVA (Megavolt Per Ampere) capacity at the Factories Area in Industrial Area 4 in February 2012. According to Dewa’s announcement, candidates with good communication skills, computer knowledge and possession of UAE driving licence will be an added advantage. Interested candidates can log on to Dewa website for detailed description of jobs. Priority will be given to the UAE Nationals but positions are open to other nationalities as well. Last month, Dewa had organised an “Open Day” to fill more than three dozens blue and white-collar vacancies. Dewa had announced for the positions of Technicians, Oilers, Mechanical Engineers, Foremen, Assistant Electricians, AC Mechanics, Supervisors and many other positions. Thousands of job seekers had thronged for the walk-in interviews.
