
Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza today paid an inspection visit to the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA)’s centre for printing electricity and water bills. Dr. Mirza met a number of employees, and was briefed on the centre’s work mechanisms and the obstacles facing them, and discussed with them ways of improving work systems. He stated that EWA uses, along with printed bills, technology to inform customers about their bills and date of payment. He added that EWA enables customers to check details of their bills online, expressing sincere thanks and appreciation to the e-Government Authority in this regard. Dr. Mirza commended the efforts of the officials and staff of the centre which, he said, prints about 350000 bills a year, adding that the available devices can print 7000 bills per hour. He noted that EWA spares no effort to provide the best services for the customers through issuing paper or e-bills. The Minister of State was accompanied by the CEO of EWA Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Deputy CEO for Distribution and Customer Services Adnan Mohammed Fakhro, Deputy Chief Executive for Administrative & Financial Affairs Ahmed Ali Basheer, Director of Customer Services Khalid Al-Muhannadi, Director of Information Systems Adeeb Al-Mutawaa, and a number of EWA’s officials.
