Marine watchdog to notify localities of sea eco-environment

The State Oceanic Administration said Thursday that it will issue reports on the marine ecological environment to local governments in coastal areas.
The move will enhance supervision of local authorities and protect marine life. The reports will pay attention to the conditions and changes in major bays and estuaries. Evaluation will be carried out on the impact of waste discharged into the seas.
The reports will also target the effect of development and accidents, including leaks of chemicals or oil.
