London - Arabstoday

Whether you turn in to an excitable kid every Christmas or are simply feeling festively-inclined, now is the time to start considering what theme your decorations will take. Whilst most of us will indulge in a few ornaments to get in the festive spirit, a jewelry store in Tokyo is offering a Christmas tree made of pure gold. Amongst the feast of frivolous home accessories on offer the 2.4 meter high tree, which weighs in at 40 kilograms of pure gold and is adorned with hand-crafted Disney characters, stands out as the ultimate seasonal statement. Though £2.6million may seem like a lot for a Christmas tree, the store selling it (Ginza Tanaka), claim it’s a great investment as gold currently reaches over 4,400 yen per gram.  The head of marketing Tomoko Ishibashi told Reuters: “We had an expert craftsman working for over two month to form each Disney character by hand.”
