Rebecca Romijn will star in an upcoming revival of The Librarian. TNT has greenlighted a new television series based on its trilogy of The Librarian films. The show will continue the story lines of characters found in Quest for the Spear (2004), Return to King Solomon's Mines (2006) and The Curse of the Judas Chalice (2008). The films follow the character Flynn Carsen (Noah Wyle), an overachieving student with twenty-two academic degrees. Carsen leaves school to become a librarian at the Metropolitan Public Library, and discovers his new position is more than it seems. He learns his true duty is to act as the institution's Librarian -- a leader who protects the library's historic and magical items. Noah Wyle, Bob Newhart and Jane Curtin will reprise their roles as Carsen, Judson and Charlene, respectively, for the upcoming television series. Creator Dean Devlin and producers John Rogers and Mac Roskin will also return to work on the show. Romijn will star as Eve Baird, a counterterrorism agent who is responsible for protecting Carsen and a group of four new Librarians. The new team will include Jenkins (John Larroquette), an expert in ancient lore, Jake Stone (Christian Kane), an oil worker with a 190 IQ, Cassandra (Lindy Booth), a woman with special memory retrieval abilities, and Ezekiel Jones (John Kim), a technology master. "The Librarian movies have been a huge success for TNT, and we jumped at the opportunity to build a series," TNT president Michael Wright says. "We're especially excited to have such an extraordinary cast behind The Librarians, and we're grateful to have them on board." The Librarians television series will debut on TNT some time in the fall.
