Volkswagen's supervisory board chairman resigns

The chairman of Volkswagen's supervisory board, Ferdinand Piech, has resigned with immediate effect, the German auto giant announced Saturday.
Piech gave up all his positions in the group with immediate effect, along with his wife Ursula Piech. He will be provisionally replaced by deputy chairman of the supervisory board Berthold Huber, according to a company statement.
