US stocks go negative as Fed keeps rates at zero

US stocks slipped into negative territory Thursday shortly after the Federal Reserve announced it would keep its key interest rate at zero.
About five minutes after the 1800 GMT Fed statement, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.21 percent, the S&P 500 0.14 percent and the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite 0.03 percent. All three indices had been in positive territory shortly before the decision.
