US stocks close lower after mixed jobs report

Wall Street stocks fell Friday after a mixed US jobs report clouded prospects for a Federal Reserve interest rate hike in less than two weeks amid China-induced global market turmoil.
As markets closed, the broad-based S&P 500 was down 1.53 percent, the Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 1.67 percent and the Nasdaq Composite lost 1.1 percent.
