Tokyo shares fell more than three percent in the afternoon Friday, as the yen climbed ahead of a key US jobs report that could determine the Federal Reserve's timetable to hiking interest rates.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 3.16 percent, or 574.22, to 17,608.17 in mid-afternoon business.
